Kristen
Kristen McCormack, owner of Little Owl Arts, grew up in the small island community of New Castle on the coast of New Hampshire and graduated from the University of Rhodes Island in 1991 with a BA in Marine Law and Management.
She moved to the San Francisco area in 1991 and continued her education but changed the focus to arts and crafts. She attended the College of Marin to study jewelry design and in the process became a gold and silversmith apprentice for Janet Alix of Alix & Company of Mill Valley.
Kristen later attended the world renowned Revere Academy in San Francisco to continue her studies in jewelry technique and design. She also studied Fashion Design at Cañada College. Kristen has participated in art festivals such as the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival and The Celebration of Craftswomen at Fort Mason, SF. In addition to teaching she continues to promote a small jewelry line and creates custom clothing & home décor goods.
In 2017 Kristen moved back to the New Hampshire seacoast and is currently focusing on handmade textile goods, home decorating and continues to teach crafts to all ages.
